CHAOS - Charles Manson, The CIA And The Secret History Of The Sixties
My breakdown of Tom O'Neill's meticulously researched book
I’m doing a chapter-wise breakdown of the book CHAOS - Charles Manson, The CIA, and the Secret History Of The Sixties by Tom O’Neill and Dan Piepenbring.
The very title of this book screams Conspiracy Theory, but Tom O’Neill spent 20 years at great personal cost to dig very deep and only write about things that he could find unimpeachable evidence for.
This is a book that makes me wonder - What is the social contract between the people of America and its three-letter agencies?
On the surface of it, the Charles Manson case was simple - hippies lost their minds on drugs and senselessly murdered a famous actress and her friends. But when you scratch the surface, it starts with a police cover-up, then goes on to deep Hollywood connections, drugs, and somehow, through the many threads the author follows, always ends up with the CIA and MK-ULTRA, no matter where you start. And these folks seem to have no consideration for the public, the media, and innocent victims.
CHAOS/Charles Manson #1 - Most of the Facts are Fiction
For the next few Fridays, we’re going to be reading CHAOS - Charles Manson, The CIA, And The Secret History Of The Sixties by Tom O’Neill. There’s a Netflix series now based on the book, and I wanted to go deep into the book while watching the series, so why not do it with you guys.
Charles Manson #2 - The Trial, And A Missing Videotape
It’s Friday! I’d originally planned Fridays to be a more free-form post. But I saw that Tom O’Neill’s book CHAOS - Charles Manson, The CIA, And The Secret History Of The Sixties had a Netflix documentary based on it. I decided to deep-dive into this book as well. Hopefully, this should be only a few weeks.
Charles Manson #3 - The Mamas And The Papas, Drug Deals and CIA men
It’s Friday! On Fridays, I read a section from Tom O’Neill’s CHAOS - Charles Manson, The CIA, and the Secret History Of the Sixties.
